Home Journal Dogs in the workplace | 5 dog-friendly places across London for after-work dinner

North London – Morty & Bob’s

Morty & Bob’s serves brunch, lunch, dinner and bar snacks. Open until ‘candlelight’ or 11pm, it’s a top spot for after-work enjoyment with your dog. We first had the pleasure of enjoying the famous Morty & Bob’s gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches when we had our stall at Netil Market, and it’s great to see them expand to new premises in this cool new area of London.

In addition to their love of cheese (they have monthly wine and grilled cheese tasting events), they also service interesting wines, cocktails and London beers to help you celebrate your dog’s office debut!

East London – Ace Hotel

Dare we say it, but the Ace is pretty ace if you are a dog about town, as admiring eyes and cuddles await you as soon as your tails whisk through their doors. The lobby, café and restaurant are all dog-friendly and with casual seating, it’s a relaxed place to enjoy after-work cocktails and small plates with friends, where your dog is welcome too. It does get busy and buzzy though, so be mindful if your dog gets a bit overwhelmed by fun-loving crowds.

West London – Hummingbird Bakery

If you prefer to end the working week on a sugar high, this the stop for you. Located almost opposite South Kensington station, the Hummingbird Bakery offers a full range of American-style baked treats and desserts including cupcakes, layer cakes, brownies, pies, cheesecakes and more, with vegan and gluten-free options too.

Dogs are welcome and they also have branches in Islington, Notting Hill, Soho and Spitalfields.

South London – Petitou

Escape the post-work hustle and bustle of Clapham High Street at this light, airy and relaxed gastropub, serving a modern European brasserie menu. Petitou prides itself on working with some of the best small producers the British Isles has to offer. Dogs are allowed to join you inside, but there’s also a pretty walled garden that is a suntrap for the early evening glow and a heated and covered pergola to provide shelter should the weather turn.

Central London – La Goccia

La Goccia is an all-day dining restaurant, serving Italian inspired dishes, wood-fired pizzette and botanical cocktails. Part of the Petersham Nurseries group, La Goccia is the brand’s interpretation of the Italian aperitivo and small plates known as ‘cicchetti’. Incredibly dog-friendly, it’s a great place to welcome in the weekend with friends on two and four-legs before heading off home.
