Patagonia Down Sweater Jacket
The Fetch & Follow brand started as a stall on London Field’s Netil Market, where we turned up with our dog wares in all kinds of weather, so we’re seasoned pros at dressing for warmth. Our go-to product for this is Patagonia’s Down Sweater Jacket. Suitable for wearing on its own or underneath another jacket, it’s lightweight, windproof, and best of all, is ethically made from 100% recycled polyester ripstop and traceable, certified goose down.
Rains Long Jacket
For all its contemporary yet practical styling, we love Scandinavian rainwear and lifestyle brand Rains. With so many styles to choose from within their growing range of apparel, bags and accessories, you’re spoilt for choice. Our recommended product is their Long Jacket, which comfortably covers up any city dog-walking wardrobe sins. Beyond the park, it’s also smart enough to wear for work, so you won’t arrive at the office or a meeting looking like a dog’s dinner.
Arc’teryx Beta Superlight Jacket
If you are planning a long adventure with your dog filled with trails and hikes through all manner of terrains, this Superlight Jacket from outdoors brand Arc’teryx is the perfect walking companion. Made from two GORE-TEX fabrics for the windproof and waterproof factor, it’s also lightweight so you won’t feel weighed down when clocking up the miles with your dog. One half of our team wore this to climb Snowdon and vouches that it has saved her on many long out-of-town dog walks.
Patagonia Retro Pile Fleece
A fleece is a great all-rounder for early morning walks and dry days when you feel a chill in the air. We particularly favour Patagonia’s Retro Pile Fleece with its soft and cosy Sherpa texture and retro look. Like Patagonia’s Down Jacket, it’s made with recycled materials. Handy features include three zip pockets for storing dog hygiene bags, treats, keys and more, as well as a hood on the female style. Go for a twinning look with Fetch & Follow’s Sherpa Dog Coats in a colour and cut of your choice.
And for layering underneath… Uniqlo Heattech
On days when we feel chilled to the bone and find dog-walking a struggle, we’ll pop on an extra layer from the Uniqlo Heattech range. A more stylish alternative to twee thermals and long johns, they’re really light so you don’t feel bulked up wearing them. They also help avoid having to offload loads of extra layers if you’ve walked the dog before work and don’t have time to change, or walked them into your dog-friendly office. The Heattech range includes everything from socks, long-sleeved tees, leggings and more.
